Annual Walk, Talk, & Roll
To a woman of wonder!
We have been hosting an annual parade for people in wheelchairs for three years, aiming to form a connection between people with disabilities and raise awareness for their needs in the community.
Ribbon Cutting Celebration for ADA Compliance Restrooms at Center of Life
Center of Life (COL), a local non-profit youth/ community engagement center did not have an ADA compliance bathroom before. Garden of Different Abilities collaborated with COL by providing expert advice on the construction of two restrooms that are convenient and safe according to ADA Laws.
In the end, such change received a proclamation from the city of Pittsburgh. It set up an great model for other organizations to follow so community members with all kinds of ability levels will feel comfortable when using the facility. It makes the facility more inclusive and welcoming to all people.
